What is Pathfounders about, and how to pitch us:
We’ll aim to cut through the noise to tell how technology really shifts power — who’s building it, who’s funding it, and what happened next.
1. Focus on AI and technology in a changing world — not geography.
Pathfounders covers sectors, not regions. We’re a tech publication based out Europe, and much of our coverage will be about European startups and ‘Big Tech’ in Europe, but we’re not defined by Europe. Our lens is global, topic-led, and centred on the big shifts in technology — especially artificial intelligence and its impact across industries.
2. Intelligent, original reporting on founders, investors, and the forces shaping AI and tech generally.
We value original stories and analysis. We dig into why things are happening — from startup struggles to venture capital strategies — and highlight founders and investors driving change, for good or for ill.
3. Selective and serious about substance.
We cover all the major verticals (e.g. AI, defence, SaaS, security, energy, policy). We welcome pitches largely from Europe and MENA, but only if they fit our editorial themes, but we’ll also cover European founders and companies expanding in the US.
A note to PRs:
- We favour “founder+investor” coverage of startups and venture capital.
- We will look at early (Preseeed) startups that have truly disruptive technologies (especially in AI), but we are more likely to cover ones that have or are about to have institutional investment, and beyond.
- We will take pitches from or about European companies, and MENA (Middle East & North Africa), and European founders/companies expanding in the US.
- We have an interest in VCs and their strategies, as well as outlier Angels, HNWs, and LPs.
- We rarely cover Blockchain/Web3 and don’t cover crypto coins or token speculation.
- Please be patient, and don’t expect us to respond to everything.
Outside Contributors / Submitted columns:
We do not take general “I can write something” pitches. We only take pitches in this form: “Here’s a fleshed-out pitch in the form of an opening example paragraph and three or four bullet points about what the rest of the piece would cover.”
The more topical / newsy the better.
We do not take huge essays. It needs to be under 1,000 words, tightly argued, and backed up with sources and links.
All submitted articles must be exclusive to Pathfounders, but you’re welcome to summarise it on social/LI/SubStack, which then links to the original on our site.
